Gone are the days, when shoes were required to keep the feet safe from being injured by walking on the streets. Today, people have far more reasons for being so fond about footwear, and buying it excessively to have their very own collections at home. Mostly, the obsession with sandals is seen among women, who just don’t seem to have enough of them, no matter how many they own. This obviously shows that people associate a lot more to footwear, than just being a good protection tool.
Our lives would have been quite dull if we only considered sandals to be required in order to remain protected from damage to the feet. In such a case, one would not pay much attention to the designs or colors that were bought and worn; or whether they looked good or not. Look around at most of the women and you will notice that all of them seem be to really fond of buying plenty of shoes and having a decent collection.
The scenario was quite different sometime back, as around 15,000 years before; people wore sandals which were made out of leather. These offered safety to their feet, but were easily worn out due to use. After some more time, sandals made out of rice straw and wood started coming into the picture, which were especially made in countries such as Japan, China and India.
Just one look at today’s sandals and are ancestors would either have been quite impressed or confused about how different they seem to be. Currently, sandals are considered to be a fashion accessory, which is worn to flaunt it off and show the world the new buy that you have recently made. If it were only for protecting one’s feet, then people would not own so many sandals at one time, and worry about not repeating the one they just wore a few days back.
Not everyone may be so obsessed with buying sandals like they were being given away for free, but a lot of women are. It’s hard to blame them too, as anyone would fall head over “heels” for the lovely colors and designs that keep coming in. Moreover, one has several brands to choose from, which gives the opportunity to wear something that looks extremely classy, and is of a good quality.
The importance of choosing the sandal right becomes even more evident, if in case one ends up wearing such a pair which just does not seem to go with the dress. You wouldn’t want to go to a party, wearing sandals which look out of place with your whole dress, would you?
Such incidents do take place, when for example one may buy a pair of sandals and realize later that they don’t look good on their feet at all. For this reason, a lot of people spend quite some time trying to get hold of the perfect pair, which would look ideal for the occasion at hand. It is also very important to keep the occasion in mind, as you may not want to end up at a wedding wearing sneakers, or at the field wearing High Heels.
Out of all the varieties that one can choose from, usually women tend to choose sandals over the rest. This is because they are extremely comfortable, and come in a wide range of pretty colors and patterns. It also makes one’s feet look cuter, and appear appropriate for being worn in college, parties, picnics or just about anything.
The comfort that they offer can be felt, as they let the air reach one’s feet, which keeps them dry, free of moisture and odor and in touch with the surroundings. Imagine being on the beach without being able to feel the sand or water. It will not be worth being there, in such a case. Thus, sandals make one’s look complete and add to the elegance, while being healthy.
